If you’re a chili lover and if you can whip up a batch of the meaty stuff, you really should perk up and read this!
SoNo MarketPlace will play host to the inaugural Connecticut Chili Classic sponsored by Saugatuck Craft Butchery on April 14, 2013 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
This chili competition needs you. Yes, YOU! Sure, eating chili is great but as previously mentioned, if you make a mean pot of chili you can enter this throwdown.
So what do you say? Do you want bragging rights for making the best chili?
Your mission, should you choose to accept it…
Pay the entrance fee of $75 and be a Connecticut resident. Preference will be given to home cooks, as in people not in the restaurant industry and you will need to prepare your final product in a commercial kitchen that will be secured for you by Saugatuck Craft Butchery and SoNo MarketPlace.
For those that just want to eat chili for three hours, jump on the Early Bird Special! $25 for adults, $10 for children 15 and under. Ticket prices will eventually rise to $35 and $15 respectively.

The Food Dudes are SO THERE.
10% of the profits from the Connecticut Chili Classic will be donated to a local food related charity.
