Lots of Fun and Even More Good Will at Community Plates’ “Food For All” Fundraiser

The event raised $12,000 which will help rescue in upwards of 100,000 meals for those in need.
Community Plates’ annual fundraising event took its first step towards their goal of being able to rescue 3 million meals for struggling individuals and families alike over the coming year on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Loading Dock in Stamford, CT.
Food For All raised funds for the 2013-2014 food rescue year from admission costs and impromptu donations during the evening from attendees. The funds will allow Community Plates to do more, and continue to rescue food that people, businesses, farms, and restaurants normally throw away and help put that food in the homes of those that are “food insecure.”
Mixed in the crowd were many local chefs and restaurateurs, business owners, politicians, and a bunch of bloggers and writers also came out to support Community Plates and the great job they are doing in our area.
Have some photo browsing fun, and maybe you will recognize a few folks and the restaurants that were present at the event!
But most of all, please visit Community Plates online at http://communityplates.org/ and donate, volunteer, tell a friend, get involved.
The evening kicked off with a vodka tasting, passed apps, and this amazing raw bar by Norm Bloom & Son.

The finale in the “Bloggers Unite” section is the “Andrew Sandwich.” On each side, Dan and Kristien of OmNomCT. “Andrew Sandwich” term coined by them. I now think that should be on a menu somewhere.

Nice job and pics, Andrew. Gotta hand it to you, don't know how you take photos when it's so crowded and there's so much food involved. You're talented. Think we're hungry now thinking about the Andrew Sandwich, now available statewide.
